Best blubs out there

I recently outfitted my entire house with about 40 Sengled Zigbee Smart Light Bulbs, connected through two hubs, and I am thoroughly impressed! These bulbs have completely transformed the lighting in my home. Installation: The setup process was a breeze. Linking the bulbs to the hubs was straightforward and hassle-free, which was a relief considering the number of bulbs I installed. Performance: Each bulb provides consistent and reliable performance. I have full control over the lighting in every room, from dimming to scheduling, all from my smartphone. The ability to customize scenes and schedules adds a whole new level of convenience. App Integration: The Sengled app is intuitive and user-friendly, making it easy to manage the settings for each bulb or group of bulbs. Integration with other smart home devices was also seamless, enhancing the overall smart home experience. Value for Money: Considering the quality, performance, and the number of features each bulb offers, these smart bulbs are definitely worth the investment. They not only add comfort and convenience but also help in reducing energy consumption with their efficiency.

Update: I won't purchase this brand again.

Update: Update: one of our bulbs stopped working and should have been covered under the warranty offered with these bulbs. I contacted Sengled and they sent me detailed instructions for resetting/reconnecting the bulbs to our hub. (I had already gone through those steps multiple times, but I repeated the process AGAIN for the sake of being thorough.) We determined that the bulb was faulty and they said they would replace the bulb. But....here we are months later and a replacement was never sent. I won't purchase another bulb from this company. They are not trustworthy and will not honor their word. ____________________________ You will need an additional hub for this to work, or buy a set that comes with hub+bulbs. We purchased a Sengled "Starter Kit" for setting things up, and additional bulbs like this set to add more to the hub. Sengled's website provides more information for setting up your smart bulbs. We use Google Home. We have Philips Hue Bulbs and also Sengled bulbs. We use Sengled bulbs in places where we need straightforward off/on/dimmer function - nothing fancy. If you're looking for your bulbs to do creative things like sync with music then I recommend using Philips Hue for that. Pros: Bright and attractive light There are bar codes on bulbs for scanning to the hub, which is great because the serial numbers are tiny! Cost less than some other brands Cons: I feel like my Philips Hue bulbs were a tiny bit more intuitive as far as setting up. Setting up the bulbs felt "clumsy" compared to the process for Philips Hue. Prefer the Philips Hue app over the Sengled app. Overall, I WOULD recommend these bulbs for straightforward lighting situations! They are a great budget-friendly option providing a nice, bright light. They seem to respond well with our Home system. Also, the white Sengled bulbs seem to match the Philips white bulbs in brightness - at least it seems so in our living space.

I bought this pack of 4, and also bought a starter set of 2 bulbs with Hub and Echo, in a Cyber Monday deal. The main reason was a hard to reach switch controlling 3 bulbs. I'm using the 4th in the same room, on a different switch that I want to control differently. I had looked into buying a smart switch, but all the ones I found said they could be tough to fit in the box, and if I can avoid dealing with wiring, that's fine with me. The drawback to this is that I can't physically switch the bulbs on and off since if I happen to leave it off, I can't have Alexa turn it back on. But I can control the 3 lights on the same switch independently if I have reason to dim them differently or have some on and some off. Pairing of the hub went easy, once I actually plugged in the ethernet cable all the way. It looks like you have to plug it in wired first, then you can go wireless after hub setup. For now I'm just leaving it wired. The hub is in a different room, about 40 feet away from the bulbs with a wall in between, no problem. Next, I climbed up on a counter, unscrewed the old bulb, and screwed in the new. That was a mistake. You have to scan the bulb first. Luckily I only did this with one. Make sure you give permission to the app for your camera and storage so it can scan each bulb. Otherwise you'll be trying to read tiny letters, and trying to figure out if it's a 0 or O. From there it's pretty easy. Screw in the bulb, flip the switch on to give the bulb power (bulb will come on), and hit OK to pair the bulb. The bulbs flash two or three times, then a few seconds later are paired. You can pair multiple at once. You have to assign a "Scene", or room the bulb is in. Then you individually name each bulb for Alexa to use, and have Alexa discover the devices. I'm not sure the real point of a Scene other than you can use the app to dim all the lights in the scene the same, or turn them all on or off. I actually find the different dimming levels useful, to make the one over my laptop dimmer, and one over a work area brighter. Alexa does not seem to let you control the entire scene--she will ask which device you want to control. Of course you can set up a group in Alexa, which I did for the set of 3 I want controlled together. Note that these lights don't dim all that much. I still have incandescent lights in my living room that I can dim to almost nothing, and these don't come close to that. But that are noticeably less than full. Fine with me for this application, but I probably won't get a set for that living room. I guess I'd have to change out that switch anyway, since they don't work with dimmer switches. I'm between a 4* and 5*, mostly due to setup not being really intuitive, but it wasn't too bad, and I really like having Alexa control of these lights for a very reasonable price.
Great Price, Easy To Setup & Control

Was looking for some reasonably priced Zigbee based bulbs to add to my Homeseer Home Automation controller and decided to give these a shot. Arrived quickly, well packaged, and a small setup sheet included. Will not be using the Sengled app or Alexa for control, but my Homeseer app on my phone and tablets along with it's voice integration with Google Home. Fired up my Homeseer app and went into my Zigbee plugin to setup the bulb. Applied power to the bulb, was quickly found and configured by the Sonoff Zigbee stick. Gave the bulb a floor assignment, room, and a name and good to go. Quickly turns on or off or adjusts the brightness level with Homeseer or Google Home voice control. Nice and bright while only drawing 9 watts at full brightness. Looking forward to getting the rest of these set up in the house, highly recommended.

Overall, they work. These do not require the Sengled hub. These work with Amazon's Echo Plus. You will not be able to connect more than 4 without putting them into pairing mode (flip the light switch on 10 times quickly, they should start blinking, shut the light off, click "discover devices" than turn it back on). This will fix that problem 100%. This ARE dimmable. "Dimmer incompatible" refers to sliding switches. You will not be able to dim with a dimmer switch, but through Alexa and the App, you definitely can. Out of 10 I'm using, all 10 have a decent range. They are not 1,2,3,4,5% like the phillips hue, but they are fairly functional. Probably 5% per step. IF YOU PLAN TO USE WITH Sengled HUB: Don't. Their software is garbage, look at the reviews on the app store. There are 3 separate apps, and they all have about 2.5/5 rating for a reason. If you get it to work, don't forget your password as it WILL NOT send you a password reset link. Customer service is subpar at best. Setup description and details on how to get it to go into pairing mode or resetting them is 0/10 as there is no details included and the website makes this information hard to find. Overall: If you really can't afford Phillips Hue, or want Daylight smart bulbs like me - you can use these. They're very cheap, and fully functional. I've got them in every room (until Phillips Hue comes out with a daylight bulb). I'm not upset I bought them, as they are CHEAP and with CHEAP stuff you have to work harder. These are a pain to setup (if using more than 4 with Alexa). What do you expect? Tech specs not included: 800 lumens 25,000 hours (LED) Supports Zigbee HA 1.2.1 (google it) -4F to -104F operating temperature (NOT RECOMMENDED FOR OUTDOOR USE in cold areas. In Chicago it get's below -4F sometimes and they do not function and 1 of 2 stopped working after) 9w (60w equiv)

Love these lights

My husband is a little picky about our LED lights and connecting them to google. This is the only brand he will buy. He buys them online because it is a better deal than buying them in person. The brightness is great and they work well with google. They are super easy to install, but we had some light fixtures that were too shallow for this bulb. We also need to buy adapters for a few fixtures because they are set for odd sizes of bulbs. These bulbs are long lasting, which is great as well. They do not stand up to kids flickering lights with the switch, so it is recommended that switches be taped if that is an issues in your residence.
Works great with my Zigbee controller, nicely packaged, better than I expected at this price point

Easy to add to Zigbee hub, great replacement for obsolete color changing bulbs from other systems. Even though this is currently my sole Zigbee device so I'm not getting any of the benefits of the mesh networking, it still reliably responds to commands, quickly and accurately. Good value for the money and fits nicely into my existing lighting fixture.
Not easy to set up

I wanted to add these to the starter pack (hub and 2 bulbs) I had purchased. The starter kit was so simple to set up and took just minutes to get everything up and running. How hard could adding just 4 more bulbs be to my existing setup? These were not easy to set up. Over and over I read and re-read the instructions and tried to get them working, I even considered upgrading my internet speed just to get them working thinking my internet speed was to blame ( called internet provider to check prices!). I rebooted my new phone more times than I can remember, and rebooted our router at least 3 xs. Finally decided I was just going to pack them up and send them back. The next morning I decided to give them one more try before shipping them back. Wired straight into my router wasn't working, so for s----- and giggles I tried the wireless less reliable (according to their instruction manual) method. After messing around for about 20 minutes I finally got to the add bulb page,...I scanned the code on the bulb with my phone and let it find and add the bulb. It took at least 30 minutes to get all 4 bulbs online this way because after each bulb was added I had to mess with the app to try and get it to let me add in another bulb...even after clicking the add another bulb page it would just go back to the home page and make me start over each time with finding the hub. I do like the bulbs though, and I do like how they work alongside of Alexa, but if these died I would not replace them. I would go with a better brand that is a bit more reliable and easy to navigate. The hassle I went through to get these functioning was not worth the cost savings over the more expensive brands.
Pretty Good w/ Home Assistant

Decent smart bulb - white only - that Home Assistant found easily. Only got 4 stars 'cause the 'On Level' brightness control didn't affect the the brightness when the bulb was turned back on though HA did make the On/Off button a slider too which did set the brightness. Haven't put it in an automation yet so there's still hope for the 'On Level' control. This is the 1st device where the 'Identify' control blinks the bulb a few times so it could be found easily.

Using with Home Assistant and Zigbee2MQTT. Works very well, good link quality, and fairly responsive. Only thing it is missing is the ability to set Power-on behavior (Controls the behavior when the device is powered on after power loss). Would be 5 stars if it had that function.
