I like that it seems to be heavy duty enough to last. I like that it was easy to install hanging from my shop ceiling. I do not care for the fact that the reel itself swivels back and forth on the mounting base. I do not like that there is no light in the cord end to indicate power but I knew that when i bought it. Just a suggestion for the manufacturer.

How to remove mounting bracket. Wouldn't trust it on the ceiling.

The instructions do not tell you how to remove the mounting bracket which is almost essential if you want to mount this on the ceiling like I do.There are 2 screws that need to be removed which hold the plastic plugs in place. Once you remove the screws, you can remove the plastic plugs and take off the bracket. Other extension reels use a large metal pin to secure the reel which seems to be a much better system.I ended up not using this reel on the ceiling because I don't trust the plastic plugs to not crack and fail over time. I would recommend the Alert Stamping version for a much more reliable mount mechanism.I wouldn't have a problem using this in the wall though as it won't be falling on somebody's head. This reel otherwise seems very solid and looks identical to many other versions available on amazon. Shop by price for this item.
