This thing loves to drop the WiFi
By Reviewer on Reviewed in the United States on June 7, 2025
The chime itself is fine. You can adjust the volume through the app and you can pick what tones or sounds you want from the app. It does need to be plugged into an outlet, so wherever you install it will be limited to where you have outlets. The chime is fine though. The one problem is it really seems to love dropping off the WiFi for random reasons. Reconnecting it is a piece of cake through the app, but you have to be physically on-location to do so since it requires your phone to be on the same WiFi network to reconnect the chime -- so if you are like me and you bought this for your 70 year old parents THAT IS A PROBLEM. This thing has went offline several times due to a power outage and other random reasons and it's very hit or miss as to whether or not it will automatically reconnect. If it doesn't automatically reconnect then troubleshooting it is not something my 70 year old parents can handle soooooo that requires me having to go over there and fix it. Given that they've only had this thing for a month or two and it's already required 3 or 4 "service calls" from me to go reconnect it to the WiFi - Yeah, that part kinda stinks!! Overall I would say if you're the type of person who can relatively easily troubleshoot whenever a device drops WiFi than this is a pretty good product and I would suggest it. But if you're the type of person who has no clue what to do when a device drops WiFi (such as my 70 year old parents) than you probably don't want to buy this thing as it might be more headaches than it's worth.
