One LAST Update: The handle that raises and lowers the umbrella is made of so me weak cheap metal. It's hidden in a plastic hub so you don't notice it rusting until it breaks off in your hand.UPDATE: I did hear from customer service very quickly who said this is a design flaw. They did offer me a refund but I asked instead for a replacement. Unfortunately the replacement would have the same problem. I don't feel right taking a refund while keeping an admittedly flawed product. So I do not recommend buying the umbrella but I do want to say the customer service department is very prompt and polite. Honestly I don't think the company should sell this umbrella without telling people it will not stay in place. I wish had known that before buying it and all the weights and 250 pounds of sand. Buyer Be Aware.I bought this to provide shade on my patio. I was upset when a 4 mph (according to weather channel) breeze caused the entire top of the umbrella to turn in the opposite direction. I double checked that the locking mechanism was in the locked position, that the strap was secure and the knobs on the pole were tight. I couldn't find any way to stop it from turning completely away from the patio - it's not the base that is moving; it's the top half of the umbrella. I wrote Wikiwiki's customer service. They got back to me within 24 hours - but said, yeah we know about it, don't know how to fix it - maybe some popsicle sticks - watch YouTube videos and our company will try to again this year to think of a way to solve the problem. WTF? Unbelievable right? Here's an exact copy of their "helpful" response.Thanks for reaching us, I feel sorry for the inconvenience.The offset "Hanging" umbrella is well-designed and beautiful since it has no additional supporting frames, which also means it could sway due to this. Last year, we added a strap to help make it stable, but it seems that it doesn't make so much difference. And our company will try again this year to think of a more helpful way to solve this problem.According to our product testing, you can try to tighten further with a wrench (and/or insert something small and "grippy") to fameliorate this problem. I found a video on YouTube which also suggested increasing the gripping power of the knobs by inserting a popsicle stick and tightening it with a wrench.
