Excellent Choice

I checked out several different weather stations before I bought this one. I couldn't get the first one set up properly and a call to their support desk proved that the unit was defective. A replacement was sent out on the same day; this one was easily set up and works perfectly. Clearly, I made the right choice in choosing the Logia 7-in-1 weather station.

BAD display design, rain gauge non-functioning.
By Semper Vaporo on Reviewed in the United States on September 19, 2022
I needed to replace my present remote weather station, and I thought a color display would be easier to read than the older B&W unit. NOPE! The color combinations on this unit for numerals and background make it much more difficult to read. The indoor temperature is dark green numbers on a darker green background, The outdoor temperature is dark red numbers on a darker red background. At least the rain gauge (which, by the way, doesn't work at all) is a mostly readable two-tone light blue numbers on a dark blue background. The wind speed, direction, barometric pressure and time/date is a pale white on a light grey background, which is not that much better for reading. The display also has a glossy surface that reflects any other light source... windows, lamps, even the sun shining on a wall from an adjacent room... makes the display difficult to read from any angle. Too many reflections overpower the display lighting. To make matters worse, the display backlight/brightness turns On and Off at random times. Apparently the unit attempts to receive a government radio time signal (RCC) to keep the display's clock correct. But it only gets the signal sporadically and every time it loses the signal it turns on the backlight/brightness and then shuts if off when it does get the signal. When the backlight/brightness is On, the display can be partially read (those sections that have at least some contrast between the numbers and the background. But when it turns Off, then it is mostly a dark gray display and only the wind data is partially readable at some viewing angles. There is a switch on the back to turn the backlight/brightness to OFF or Low or High, but only OFF is always Off, the Low and High are only On during those times the radio is seeking the time signal, but there is no ALWAYS ON setting. There is a way to shut off the RCC system, but it seems to turn back on whenever it pleases. I have a multi camera video surveillance system that has one camera aimed at the display, so that when some other camera's video clip has some event of interest, I can review the weather display video clip of the same time frame to know the temperature, wind speed and direction, etc. But the display is very hard for the video camera to focus on. I do not understand why, but if I get one set of numbers in focus the others are very blurry. Get the top in focus and the bottom is out of focus, or vice-versa, if the bottom is in focus, the top is blurry. Makes no sense to me, but it makes the video clips near useless. I was going to try to make do with it and did not intend to send it back, so the packaging is already off to the recyclers, but now that it has rained and I see the rain gauge is non-functioning, it is too late for an Amazon return/refund. All in all, this is the worst product I have purchased from Amazon. I may try to take it apart to see why the rain gauge doesn't work, but I really do not hold out much hope. It will probably be going to the electronics recycler, too. I suppose others like the product, but I find it a worthless piece of junk.
