Prominence Home 52" Idris Craftsman Fan

I received this fan yesterday and installed it after work. Installation was easy, just like any other ceiling fan, if you've installed one you know they all pretty much the same. Issues- 1) Nothing was cleanly packaged, it's like the parts got tossed in the box in a rush. Screws were loose and rolling around in the box (luckily they included twice the number of screws for the blades that were needed, wonder if they shorted another box?), Some of the fan attachment peices weren't in the plastic bags, they were just tossed in there and the bags tossed after. That should have been a warning to me to close the box and return it, but i made sure all the peices were there and installed the fan. 2) The fan will not run with the light turned off. It's not a wiring issue, there's only black and white wires (i've double checked htem to make sure they were connected) and a plug for the light attachment. 3) There's a button on the remote that says when pressed it will wait 1 minute then turn off the lights. When you actually push that button the lights shut off instantly and then slowly come back on. 4) The fan is noisy, very noisy. You DO NOT want ot install this in your bedroom like i did. I used the weights from a previous fan installation that are smaller and have more variety to balance the blades better, and it is still noisy. The worst noise is the motor, it hums loudly. then there's the vibration from the motor it makes the glass bulb cover rattle in the metal housing. I've tightened that up as much as possible without breaking the glass and it still rattles. 5) I finished installing this fan around 7pm, let it run a few hours and then went to bed. that's when i found out you can't run the fan without the lights off. Turning the lights off turns the fan off. So i had to set the lights at their lowest setting and then went to sleep. Sometime during hte night the whole fan died. Now it doesn't work at all. So this fan lasted less than 12 hours total runtime. I'll be installing the previous fan i was replacing with this one and looking for a new fan. This one is a total dud. I do not recommend anyone purchasing this fan.
