User friendly and reliable smart bulbs

I first bought one of these lights about 2 years ago, and there is some difference in color rendering between that bulb and these newer version bulbs, but they all work in the same app and work together well. These lights, once paired, are easy to use from Alexa or the phone app allowing routines to be set up and automation of the lighting. Color variation is vast and there are settings for warm or daylight with a single touch while it's also possible to explore the range of colors by selecting from a color wheel. Overall, the range of colors is impressive and the selections of preset scenes makes it easy to find my preferences. There is a setting to use wifi signal to detect movement to activate the lights. In my experience, this is more gimmick than feature. It worked poorly and made the normal light functions fail. Of the multi-color lights that I have purchased, I keep coming back to this brand for ease of use and user interface on the app. Good enough that I now have 7 of this bulb in my home.

Poor Quality Control

We wanted to replace all the lights in our basement with color changing bulbs and I bought 1 to test before we committed. It seemed great! Easy setup and a GREAT price point. The app gives you plenty of control while staying intuitive. The colors aren’t very bright compared to the white options but good enough for our purposes. After testing, we decided to go with this brand for our whole basement. After receiving all of the bulbs, we realized that not all of them worked. Some would power on but never connect to WiFi and others would just strobe the second we screwed them in. The majority of them did work so we just returned the defective bulbs for refund and replaced them with new — problem solved! We got them all connected and they worked exactly as I had hoped, great for parties! Fast forward a few months: we purchased these in October 2023, it is currently April 2024. 2 of the bulbs have quit powering on entirely, 3 no longer connect to Wi-Fi so can’t be controlled and 2 just flicker. I absolutely LOVE the platform and the price, but if you are looking for a long term install, just spend a little more and get something that will last longer. But if you are just needing one or two for some lamps/fun these will fit the bill and are much more reasonable than other brands.
