Good fit for light duty projects
By pinkdiamndz on Reviewed in the United States on October 2, 2022
This is my husband’s review: This saw is a good fit for light duty projects. My wife got this for me and I was skeptical as to the durability of a $100 saw. I work with electricians who regularly go through professional grade tools in the blue, red, and yellow colors. I am not an electrician and my needs are more amateurish DIY and “honey-do” list. Bottom line I rate this a solid 4 stars and would recommend and buy one again. On to the review. Shipping and packaging was very solid without being excessive. The kit comes with a single battery, charger, carrying case, both a wood, and metal blade, instructions and of course the saw. Instructions are well written and easy to understand. Setting up I set up and charged the battery which took approx 8 min, instructions mention it will take several charges to bring the battery to full life. I had 5 pallets at work to destroy so with a fresh battery and blade we went to work. The saw is light and feels comfortable in my meat hooks. The blade can be set to cut towards or away from the user. There is a light that illuminates the cutting area but I did not find it useful as it only lit one side of the work area. I pushed this saw hard and it took a lot of punishment, it was impressive to watch this little guy run as well as name brand. After a continuous 30 min work I was down to 2 pallets. By this point there was 1/2 charge indicated by leds located on the battery. The motor was showing signs of lugging down under a load but there was very little heat on the housing or battery. I gave it a 1 hour break and came back to finish off the last two. Battery showed 1//2 charge and everything was cool to the touch. As I cut these I noticed a significant power loss and the battery finally gave out just prior to my last cut. Total work time was about 45min. The charge time on this cycle was exactly 1 hour and everything work as advertised. For light duty small jobs this is a good fit.

Kinda weak

Tried using this for a shed demolition project, and ended up having to get something else. Mostly cutting through well seasoned 2x4s, and sometimes some nails with a metal blade, which are not terribly difficult things for this type of saw. This saw just does not have adequate power, and would often just stop. Initially thought it was the blades, so tried some new ones and same thing. I did also use for trimming some soft green branches, which it worked fine, however I would look elsewhere.
