The correct way to mount ones Tool Box!
By Whirlwind on Reviewed in the United States on August 30, 2023
These are well built and sturdy mounting brackets. They have a nice machined and powder coated aluminum clamp with broad 1" od washers to aid in the spreading of the forces. No instructions were included in the package but the Amazon product page has ample directions upon it. As my toolbox did not have pre drilled holes or slots, it required me to add that step to my installation. I positioned the clamp block against the bed rail/toolbox bottom, marked thru the hole with a Q-tip with a little grease on the end to mark where to drill into the toolbox. Drilled the hole from the bottom and the rest was done as per the instructions found on Amazon.

Look nice and good design but watch your hands

Got these so I wouldn't have to drill thru the bed rails on the truck. The item itself works as described and was relatively easy to install. My only issue is that since it's a weird shape I held it with my hands while I drove the bold in with a drill. Big mistake. The aluminum is kind of soft and the bolt locked up. Mind you it was already halfway threaded by this point and it spun in my hand. Didn't cut or anything but painful nonetheless. Hold it with a pair of pliers if need be. It did this with all 4 bolts that I used and I was using the lower speed on the drill and only about a half trigger. The only flaw I see is that the bolts are so long you can grab them with some vice grips and spin them out from the bottom enough that you can rotate them to get the box off. A better design would have been holes thru the aluminum and the bolt going up with a locknut inside the box. That's how J hooks work specifically to avoid theft.
