Very Convenient to Carry and Use. Does a Great Job. Perfect for Buffing Out Fogged Over Headlights.

I've owned an orbital car buffer for many years. The one I have is larger, about eight inches, and corded. It's a two-hand buffer. I have gotten a lot of use out of it and it is rare for me to wax my car with anything but a buffer now. It is just so much faster, and it does a better job, generally. You may still have to hand wax and buff out cracks and crevices here and there. But really not very often. This small buffer is not expensively constructed. But it is more than adequate. It's cordless, which is very nice. I can wax my car on the street if I'd like, without having to trail a long power cord out there. I have used it to wax a small car and buff out the headlights on two cars, so far, using plastic polish. I want to say, just that is worth having this polisher for. It made a tremendous difference. You get a pair of batteries and a charger cube. I have not run either one of the batteries down to zero while using it. So, I think the two would handle many reasonable jobs, like a pickup and camper shell easily on one charge. The little cube does take a while to charge the battery. But several hours will normally top it off. The pads (bonnets they call them) stick on with Velcro like hooks. That is convenient. But some of the pads do really stick and care must be taken to work them loose. You get several sponges and several wool-like polishing pads. You also get stretch on applicator cloth pads. I placed them over the sponges and then stuck the sponges to the Velcro like disk on the device. You have to be careful to center it or it will vibrate excessively. So, it might take a bit of trial and error. It is variable speed. You should start out slower and with light pressure. If you press too hard it will load up the motor and not do very much. This is also not good for the motor. So, if you are pressing harder you need to crank the RPMs up. My other buffer is fixed speed. So, this took a bit of practice. I like the variable speed feature, though. It was particularly good when I was working on the headlight. The foam pads, flat and wavey, application cloth pad covers, and buffing pads are the only things I have needed. They provide some surgical gloves, an apron, etc. I didn't need those. There are a couple of micro-fiber cloths included. These all fit easily in a nice zipper carry bag, which I also put my wax and plastic polish in. For the money, with two batteries, all of the pads you need to last you a good while and a carry bag this setup is worth the price it sells for. You will pay the same, or more, for a corded unit. It's not a heavy duty or high-powered unit. Those will set you back three time as much. For me and my use it's perfect. I like it, would buy another for myself or as a gift, so it is worthy of five stars.

Almost great
By Robert Regan on Reviewed in the United States on August 30, 2024
The things I really like about this polisher are the generous amount of accessories that are included (foam pads, different material bonnets, apron, sandpaper and buffing cloth. I also like that it includes 2 batteries. The design makes for an easy Ave balanced grip, and the variable speeds are helpful. What I think needs to be improved is the battery capacity and the battery fitment. Using the polisher at max RPMs is not possible for more than a 10 minute period. This would be acceptable if I was just looking to polish a small area, but this is really not a tool to be used at high capacity on the entire vehicle. Another problem is the battery doesn't fit very well. Upon inserting the battery, it had to be forced in and then it became jammed. I was able to get it back out, but it's still a struggle to get it in the polisher
