This thing works a charm when using it to pick up dust, especially with the brush attachment. But it's >2" opening means a lot of work I could accomplish in a fraction of the time with a wet duster. So it's not the best for larger surfaces but is really great for crevices, picture frames, and hard-to-reach places like the nooks, crannies, and vents on the back of a TV. I bought it to clean the filters on my air conditioner, but it simply doesn't have enough suction to do a great job. It certainly doesn't take the place of the 30-year-old Dust Buster that finally died on me. I tried using it to pick up small material, such as fingernail clippings, crumbs and lint sitting on top of carpet, dog hair floating on the linoleum, and particles around and under the cushions of my furniture. It struggled with the clippings (I really had to close the gap on suction to get them picked up), wouldn't budge the crumbs and lint sitting on top of the carpet, picked up some of the dog hair, but not all (and what it did pick up got stuck in the opening), but did very well on the furniture. I think it just lacks power to be really versatile in its use. Its lack of suction power really limits it to light work alone. I can see it being useful on the kitchen counter and on other flat, non-porous surfaces where decent suction can be obtained and where only light particles are being cleaned, but not on carpeted, textured, or fibrous surfaces or for larger, heavier, or fibrous materials needing to be sucked up. So, it doesn't get top marks for me because it's not useful enough for the price, but it will work a charm for some of your needs aren't like mine.OTHER PLUS ITEMS: it's very lightweight, well-balanced, and easy to hold; it is not very loud at all; it charges very quickly; the light function is great -- I wish every hand vacuum had one!OTHER CONS: the filter really get dirty quickly: when they say to clean it every time it's used, they mean it -- that tiny filter doesn't go far at all, and that's a bit of a pain.
