Great trimmer

I'm so pleased with this trimmer. It came well packaged and easy instructions for use. Its not a DeWalt product but my DeWalt batteries match perfectly. It did run through the batter quickly but in fairness, the battery may not have been at full charge. I was able to complete my task with ease. The trimmer is light weight so I was able to work without tiringout my arms. Definitly a good buy. Seems to be make of sturdy materials to hopefully last a long time. I look forward to doing more trimming of bushes that I did by hand before. This trimmer made my job easy and I was done quickly. A plus for me

Caught on fire.

I purchased this hedge trimmer two days ago. Today, I got me a beer, because I don’t touch any lawn equipment without a beer in hand, and proceeded to trim the hedges on my fence line. After the first 50ft, the trimmer began to smoke black. I immediately pulled the battery out. Not something I’d normally do. But after a few minutes I plugged the battery back in. It began to smoke black again. After reading through the owners manual, I did not find any literature stating that this is normal. Tool no longer works. Only giving it two stars because I was really excited about the fact that it was a cheap trimmer that worked well while it worked!
