If this plug is “so smart” then why doesn’t it do anything when I yell at it?

I did try to speak politely at first, but this plug just doesn’t do anything. I asked it to turn on the lights, it ignored me. I said to turn off the TV and it kept supplying power to the darn thing! The directions say clearly that I can control the outlet with my voice! Is this a smart plug or a smart-aleck plug? Because if it’s the latter, I already got one in my life and I’m married to him.
